eBay Listing Title SEO - How To Rank Your Listings 1st Page of eBay Searches

eBay Title SEO

The most critical aspect that determines whether you will sell a lot of stuff on eBay pretty much all boils down to where you show up in eBay's search rankings.

If your product gets 1st page ranking and you show up on the first page of eBay, not only are you pretty much guranteed to sell your items, your typically able to sell them for substantially more than your compeition. Reason being, most people never scroll past the first page of eBay searches to see what is beyond there. Having first page ranking for an eBay listing is a recipe to making money.

Now nobody truly knows all the in's and out's of eBay's search algorithm which determines who shows up in eBay searches, however eBay themselves tells us what the factors are that play into ranking high.

eBay wants to provide buyers a good shopping experience. That means they typically will show proven sellers with a good track record to show their listings above new sellers or sellers with low feedback. This means if you have low feedback or bad feedback, you will need to improve that before you start getting good ranking as that plays heavily into eBays search algorithm.

There are however other things you can do to improve your ranking. eBay themselves tell us by offering free shipping and accepting returns you get a bump in search ranking. Many people seem reluctant to offer free shipping but just roll it into the cost of the product. If you would normally sell an item for $10 with $10 shipping just sell the item for $20 and offer free shipping. As for returns, again many sellers are hesitant to offer returns but you are allowed to offer returns with a 20% restocking fee. This is the best way to go about this. The restocking fee typically discourages returns while still allowing you to technically offer them. Also, if you do happen to get a return that 20% restocking fee should cover any costs you incurred having to accept a return. In addition you need to offer returns to be a top rated seller and power seller so it's really a no brainer you should be offering returns and free shipping.

Free shipping and returns play a role in eBays search ranking, however above that is a good title. In addition to having a good title you'll also want to post a detailed description, as many item specifics as you can, and a lot of pictures, max out all 12 pictures even if it's not necessary to have 12 pictures.

As for the title, you want a keyword rich title. For example, if I was selling paracord bracelets some other words I would want to include in my title are "camping, survival, 550 paracord, edc, every day carry, fire starter, magnesium" you get the point. One tool I really like to use to use to determine accurately what my buyers are searching for is Terapeak which pulls eBay sales stats and analytics. This is a valuable program which gives you info on your competitors, sales states and sell through rate so you can determine if an item is even worth selling, and best of all it gives you data such as the time of day and day of the week most buyers buy. The keywords buyers are searching for. Popular items among buyers in your niche, and many other valuable pieces of info which can help you craft a listing sure to rise to the top of eBay searches. You can sign up for a FREE TRIAL of Terapeak by clicking this link.

In addition to being a great place to pull data, Terapeak also has their own title builder. Though it's helpful it's not really a tool that can really be used to create a listing title for you, I still prefer doing it manually, although I have recently spoken with the people over at Terapeak and they are working on improving the title builder and will be rolling out a new one soon.

You can also hire someone like myself through my Fiverr Gig to create an SEO'd eBay title for you. It only costs you one gig so $5, and with such a low cost you are sure to make your money back after just one sale. Now I can't gurantee that your brand new eBay account with 0 feedback will rise to page one of search as eBay typically doesn't show low feedback items on top page. A properly SEO'd eBay title however will make you rank higher in search than you would otherwise. For example, if your item would normally otherwise show up on page 30 of eBay search, a properly SEO'd eBay title can probably rise to page 15 and as you get sales and improve your sales rank and build feedback you'll only continue to rank higher.

I have a number of gigs on Fiverr which can assist you with your eBay and Amazon business. You can check me out on Fiverr.Com/RulesForRebels
